The Germaniums Are In Bloom

The Seasonal return of the Ge Fuzz! This little monster is a hybrid Germanium and Silicon fuzz. It has Mil-Surp UKR Germanium MP38/A transistors where it counts. Blue MP38 in Q1 and silver MP38A in Q2. This gives it a nice round, warm, vintage tone and texture; as well as fantastic guitar volume clean-up. You want roar? You got it. You want that fuzzy OD? You got it. You want those beautiful cleans that aren't quite clean? You got it.



I've kept the Ge Fuzz lean and mean - pure transistor fuzz, no diodes. The Bias and Detail are set just right, and with usable tones over their entire ranges. Dimed, or just barely cracked, everything sounds great with single-coils, humbuckers, P90's, Filtertrons, whatever. 

There are some slight changes for this year based upon having the Ge Fuzz on my pedalboard for a year.  The Bias has been reined-in so that it can be used throughout it's entire range without getting splatty.  I've also made the circuit a little brighter to help cut-through a band mix.  The gain range is still the same as last year, a little on the lower side, this is entirely the nature of these lower-gain germanium transistors.  High-gain is why the Allora exists!
