This Wild Card Aleph Gain Device is out of season, but I had the parts so I figured why not? The only difference between this and the Annual LTD is that the LF351 OPAmp is socketed in this one. I built it with the idea to test out various OPAmps, but once it was complete I realized I just need to leave it alone. It sounded perfect, well perfectly Aleph anyway...
The Aleph Gain Device is an OpAmp based fuzzy drive that is flexible enough to produce tones that run from clear, open overdrive, to tight, buzzy fuzz. The 6-position Shave control is a rotary cap network that progressively shaves off high frequencies. Unlike a traditional tone control, a cap network allows the basic voice of the Aleph to remain intact. The Aleph also has a new 3-way Squelch Toggle that alters the behavior of the NOS tin-can LF351 OpAmp, giving it two additional fuzz voicings.
