The Germanium Plus is inspired by a custom I made for a customer. His was intentionally unity gain, this one however goes over unity. This is due to the unique complement of vintage NOS Germanium diodes that give it it's name. On the texture toggle there is:
1. Vintage 1959 Transitron 1N138B Germanium pair of copper-can diodes
2. Vintage 1965 Hoffman 1N4(?) Germanium dual Anti-Parallel diode in a single metal can package (incredibly rare)
3. Vintage 1965 Texas Instruments 1N848 Germanium Single Asymmetrical diode
It also has a Focus toggle that shaves off highs, this in combination with the rotary Girth control give you a wide array of tones. This experiment turned out to be very special, and I think a version of it might have to become an annual LTD edition. I'd have to do something different than those 3 rare diodes though, way too hard to find. The dramatic oxide top has laser-cut graphics, and oxblood cupcake knobs.
